Kiersten and Mike - Paducah Couple Photography
Kiersten and Mike knew exactly what they wanted. Updated pictures of themselves with gorgeous brick walls and architecture as the backdrop. Downtown Paducah, once again, was a real winner!

Brandon's Senior Pictures - Paducah Senior Photography
This was such a neat shoot to do! Brandon will be in the first graduating class of a new super high school they're opening up this year. On top of that, his family are originally from New York which was amazing since I am originally from South Jersey. Nothing quite like finding that out to remind you that it truly is a small, small world.

Ava's 6 Month Pictures- Paducah Child Photography
What a joy it was to capture this sweet little girl's 6 month pictures. The entire family was just a dream to work with and I can't wait to work with them again! How cute is she?!

Alyssa's Maternity shoot- Paducah Maternity Photography
I was very excited to do this maternity shoot. They asked for country, so I gave them country. Think endless fields framed by big trees and an old barn. Beautiful! I am so happy with how these came out!

Ocean City 2013
When I think of my summers growing up, I instantly think of Ocean City, NJ. My mom would get a beach-front house for a week and we would spend our days lounging in the sun, playing in the surf, looking for seashells. And then at night, the boardwalk comes alive. We'd spend hours and hours riding rides and shopping, and filling ourselves with Johnson's popcorn until we were sick.
This is one of the many memories I've decided to share with my daughter. I want her to create her own childhood memories, of course, but there's something to be said that her first ride was the very same that I rode for the first time 28 years ago.

Well, that lasted long.
I had every intention of doing the 365 challenge. And then I went on vacation and I kind of did the opposite of everyone else. I put the camera down. I went swimming with my daughter. I put my feet in the ocean, I went shopping, I celebrated my step brother marrying the sweetest girl, I stayed up long after bed time chatting up with my mom. I didn't live through my lens. I lived!
I guess even when you love something so much, sometimes you just need a break. And that's what I did. But I came back with a flourish! I have new advertisements that hit facebook and other sites today. I have a pretty good idea where I want to go with my photography. And I'm happy and refreshed. And that's all that matters, right?
Here's a snapshot of the circus we went to while we were on vacation. Cadie and her cousin watching the tigers perform.

365 - Day 3
Today's post will be short and sweet.
My husband started home brewing tonight. Here's a picture of the bag of grains seeping into the water. Hopefully the first of many batches!

365- Day 2
I am not what you would consider a great gardener. I would say I kill roughly half of the plants I try to grow. So when we put a new flower bed in front of our house last year, I figured I'd make it easier on myself and just get a box of that premade flower mix. You know, the pretty wildflower mix?
Big mistake. I've have to tear most of it out because it was just flowerless weeds. I did, however, have a few wild flowers that popped up that are absolutely gorgeous. I have no idea what they are, but I figured since they add some color and don't seem to be overtaking my bed, they can stay.
So here's my day 2. As my mom once told me, the only difference between a weed and a flower is the person viewing it.

365- Day 1
Let me just start this saying that I will not be posting every day. I will, however, make myself pick up my camera and take a picture a day. I know, that sounds so hard, right? I'm rolling my eyes at myself over here. But I am challenging myself to find beauty in the mundane and usual. Try to expand my artistic horizons and all that. To better document my every day life. I'm thinking this could be fun!
So I submit day one.
I added a new lens to my collection today and had a little mini session for the greatest kid model there ever was. Could be that I'm biased because she's my daughter or it could be because she works for cut up watermelon.

MacKenna's Dance Pictures | Paducah Children's Photography
I took dance lessons when I was 6 because my best friend danced and I had aspirations to be one of those ballerinas that danced on their toes. Unfortunately, dance does not come naturally to me and being the typical 6 year old, my attention and time quickly went somewhere else. I walked away knowing a little more than the basic positions of where you put your feet.
So when MacKenna's mom asked me to take her dance photos, I was a little apprehensive and even more excited. This was definitely not your typical photo shoot (then again, what is your typical photo shoot?) but I had a blast walking around downtown Paducah and just capturing MacKenna as she danced around. Her personality really came out when she put the ballerina costume on. She started walking on her tippy toes and gesturing with quite the flourish! What a personality and I'm glad that I was able to capture that.

Aaron's Prom 2013 | Paducah Special Events Photography
A friend of mine asked me to take some pictures of her son and his beautiful date, Hayley and I jumped on the opportunity. You see, Aaron is a special guy. He's very bright (my hubby taught him AP Calc this year) and very talented (he played his Sax at the Macy's Parade). And he's so nice and funny to boot! I knew this photo shoot would be a fun one. And I think everyone was happy with the results. :)
